1.   Are canoes supplied? No But a limited number are available for rent. Contact me at bravado@bravadochallenge.org for canoe rental details

 

2.   How long does it take to complete the race?  About 3.5 hours on average. Remember many participants do the event at a leisurely non-competitive pace. See 2006 results page

 

3.   Where does the money go? All the money collected from racers goes directly to the birth to three program. See the link to the L.S.S web site.

 

4.   What time can I drop off equipment the morning of the race? All the checkpoints will open at 6:30 am.

 

5.   Is the course for road or mountain bikes? The biking section is very well paved so it’s your call.

 

6.   What is the terrain like for the run? The run is all off road and very rough at times

 

7.   Are canoes/kayaks provided? Or do you know how I could get a canoe or kayak? No boats are provided. See question #1

 

8.   What if it rains on race day? You will get wet

 

9.   How much $ should I donate? Or what is the average donation? See registration Page on this web site

 

10.           Do I have to be a hardcore athlete to participate? Or how competitive is the race? The majority of racers will go at a leisurely pace. About 10% who will go hard and compete for the top places.

 

11.           Can anyone participate (i.e., children)? Anyone can participate and we are seeing more children each year

 

12.           How long does the race take? 3 to 4 hours see last years results on website

 

13.           Is there a time limit to complete the course? No time limit

15.           Can I use a raft instead or a canoe or kayak? Yes

 

16.           Who benefits from the proceeds and how? LSS runs a program called birth to three.   See link on web site. All proceeds will be passed along to them.

 

17.           Who is LSS and what is Birth to Three? Please visit the LSS web site. We have it linked from this site.

 

18.           Do I have to have a partner? No.Do it solo, with a partner, do it with 2 or 3 partners

 

19.           What does my donation include? Race entry, t-shirt, gift bag, great challenge on a great course, post-race party, knowledge that you are helping a quality organization...

 

20.           When is the entry deadline? See registration Page on web site. Same day registration is available

 

21.           What will I need the day of the race? Shoes, Bike, tire pump, patch kit, trial pass, boat, life vest, water. See race day procedures page

 

22.           What might I want? Sunscreen, bug spray, dry clothes at finish line.
